November 9, 2008

The Little Elm Bass Busters has been on an unfortunate break for awhile now. However, many of the past members would like to get the ball rolling again. For those of you who know nothing about us, we are a small group of  fishermen, and ladies, that really enjoy bass fishing. We hold tournaments on several different lakes within driving distance of Little Elm. These tournaments are held once a month, and the tournament lake is voted on by current members. Last year, the tournament lakes were voted on at the conclusion of the previous tournament. We have tried fishing both as a team format and an individual format. Members are the deciding factor in this.

Membership into the club is a small nominal fee, and the entry fees into the tournaments are very reasonalble as well. Keep in mind, this is not a tournament trail that will make you rich, monetarily speaking. What you will gain is meeting new people, maybe fishing new lakes, possibly learning new and different techniques, maybe even help teach some new techniques to some of the guys. But, most importantly, we hope everyone who fishes with us has a good time.

The club fishes 12 tournaments a year, one per month beginning in November. The club championship is held in October.  The championship must be qualified for throughout the season. Last year was done on a point system. The club is also active in the community through an annual Kid's Fish, held on Lake Lewisville in April. Unfortunately we missed the opportunity to host this event last year and this year as well.

For current members, and anyone who would like to come out and see if this club would be something that you would be interested in, we will be having a tournament this weekend. The date will be November 15. We will be fishing Amon Carter and will be launching at safe daylight. We will be launching from Selma Park. So anyone interested in  coming out and having a little fun, please feel free to join us.
