|
October 21, 2006
Members present were: Jim Bonnell, Charles Hamilton, Barb Graham, Chuck McMurray, Danny Johnson, and Rick Ivy. At the Final Meeting of the 2005 - 2006 Tournament Season, there were several items discussed and mentioned.
The annual kids fish was mentioned. Jim stated that he could get a few of the Women Professional Bass Anglers to attend. The big topic that was talked about was the lack of members. Last year it was voted on to go from a team tournament season to an individual season. It was thought that this would help with membership by placing everyone on an equal scale. Each person would be responsible for their own out come. Last year we had several members that would jump partners in order to fish with someone who did extremely well on certain lakes in the past, thus stacking themselves for better points. We were trying to do away with this type of fishing, and increase the competetive spirit. This had just the opposite effect. We lost several members, just by going to an individual type tournament. It was talked about going back to a team setup. However, no one could come up with a way to keep the "Stacking" from happening. It was mentioned about going to a Draw Tournament, where the members present at the tournament would draw names to see who they were fishing with. It was also mentioned about having the same teams throughout the season. In this format, the team members could only fish with their partners, if the partner was not present, then that individual would fish by themselves. Regardless of whether we remain individual or go back to teams, the entry fees will remain $30.00 per serson. HERE IS THE QUESTION THAT I AM POSING TO ALL MEMBERS: HOW CAN WE INCREASE MORE MEMBERSHIPS INTO THE CLUB? Please email any ideas or suggestions to me at lt622fd@sbcglobal.net, or c.hamilton@littleelmbassbusters.com I will be looking for any recommendations, and all will be considered at the next scheduled meeting. Another reason that we feel we lost several other members last year was due to holding the tournaments on Sundays. We know that several past members go to church on Sundays, therefore, it was decided that the tournaments would be held on the first Saturday of the month, unless there was a holiday. This was voted on by the members that were present. Tournament Dates and Locations November 4, 2006 Lake Texoma. Launch at LightHouse December 2, 2006 Lake Bridgeport. Launch will be Wise County Park.
